Love this wool. Easy to knit and goes a long way. Looks great when knitted. My cardigan not sewn up yet but almost done. Will be on its way to Scotland to my new little grandson.
I made my daughter, granddaughter and grandsons all a jumber in Cleckheaton Country Naturals, they love them. Using the recommended wool for the pattern is the best way to go for the perfect finish. Thank you to the Yarn Store.
I have knitted in Cleckheaton Country Naturals 8 Ply for all the family, with the pattern from the Yarn Store (Modern Family Knits) Cleckheaton Country Naturals 8 Ply, washes up beautifully.
Beginner knitter here, really like the wool but it is quite a different colour than I thought! I chose Smoke to make a jumper for my partner: the pic looks like a dark browny-grey but it is in fact more of a mauvy-grey. All good, the colour will be fine for him but I'd probably ask to colour check next time.
I am happy with the yarn and colour, but unhappy with the fleck. Far too many ends that stick out. The flecks are not integrated into the yarn itself. The result is I am continually having to pick off loose flecks. A few times when knitted with a stitch, the fleck has come out and I have been left with a loose stitch. Quite annoying.
I love love love this wool. It’s easy to knit with, it’s so pretty with the flecks that I enjoy knitting with it. I am making a beanie tonight at work. But I am actually also knitting a jumper with a zip collar in the butter. Definitely I will be getting more wool in different colours, to knit more projects
I’m knitting this jumper for a 3 year old. I chose the yarn because the label says it can be machine washed. The mother of the child is too busy to hand wash anything. I’ve had my beautiful hand knits ruined so many times! Im hoping this will be more hard wearing. I’ve got one sleeve to go. It was quite easy to knit with. It splits if you’re not careful. It feels course over the stocking stitch, less so over garter stitch.
I purchased the butter colour yarn. I’m going to start knitting a jumper with a zip. The colour is beautiful, it is a perfect butter colour with flecks through it, stunning, better than the photo of the yarn. The yarn feels so lovely and soft I can’t wait to start knitting with it. The jumper I have included is my pattern I shall be making, but in a crop version.
Hello Yarn Store,
I'm loving the experience of knitting but, in fact, I'm probably the least creative person you've ever dealt
with ! I taught myself how to knit so I can only do garter stitch and in a straight line. I have made blankets for my two children and the one I started recently is for my nephew and partner. Also, it usually takes me a very long time so perhaps you shouldn't expect a photo for some time. However, I enjoy it and thank you for the prompt delivery. Kindest regards, Pamela.
P.S. I'm 73 years old so here's hoping I live long enough to finish it !!!
I love The Yarn Store! Since I discovered it on line a few years ago, I have bought all my wool there. They have a very comprehensive website and a wide choice of yarn. Their service is excellent and delivery has always been very fast.
Thank you Yarn Store!
I started off with 350g of Wisteria Country Harvest from Wangaratta woollen mills. I found a shawl pattern and thought 4 weeks would enough time to knit it for my sister's birthday. I knew Id need more, and The Yarn Store had the colour so I ordered 3 more, not wanting to buy too many as the pattern is from a scarf book that notoriously overestimates the volume pf wool needed. The shawl was finished 3 days after her birthday and I needed to order a further 2 more orders of the wool to finish the shawl. Its a gorgeous pattern and is quite large. My sister is thrilled with it and says it sits really nicely one her shoulders. Thanks so much Yarn Store for your prompt delivery and for stocking Wisteria in this type of yarn. The shawl is very warm, as it was cooking me as I was knitting it in warm temperatures!
I’m making a Battenberg throw by Sandra Paul of the Cherry Heart podcast and the Country Naturals 8 ply is the perfect yarn for it. The Yarn Store delivered my parcel very quickly.
This is my second purchase of this yarn. It knitted up so well the first project and there were a couple of balls left over so I ordered this extra to make another project.
Delivery was prompt too.
Thank you.
