This was an old pattern from the 70s..This shawl was supposed to take 500 gms of baby wool. It ended up taking 650 gms of Patons big baby acrylic. Thanks for sending me extra yarn in the same colour and lot number to enable me to finish it.
I have been using Patons Big Baby 4ply yarn for several years now and it certainly is my favourite. This yarn knits up very nicely. I am not overly creative in my knitting - the majority of my items are beanies for babies, which I donate to a maternity hospital for their littlest patients. And I happily purchase my yarn online from The Yarn Store. They are a great business to deal with.

I loved working with this wool. I did not have enough to finish the jumper so went online to search to the colour and found it with your shop, so I ordered plus extra quantity to make something else.

Was quite disappointed,as yarn was same number, but the colour was different,my main lot had a pale jlue in it,the new ball had a much darker blue

I ripped it out this morning. I know it is 4ply but it seems more like a 3 ply. I know I am not a fan of a synthetic yarn but I do not think I will use this yarn again.' I was looking forward to making something for my 16th grand child.

I recently bought Patons Big Baby 4 ply yarn, it seems like it is only 2 ply. I have been using this product for years and can't believe the difference in this yarn. It is much harder to knit with and the end product is not the same. Hopefully this is a one off change. Very disappointing. Yarn on first ball of will the twist was very loose and unraveling, on about a meter from inside the ball. Have kept to send back for you to peruse. Very nice to knit with, as knitting a large bed blanket which will take all of the 9 balls purchased. Will take another few weeks to complete. Colour is just what we needed, and is soft muted colour.
